Doek RAW is a pay what you want, download only label documenting various projects from the members of Doek, a collective of improvising musicians based in Amsterdam, Netherlands and led by an artistic core of Eric Boeren, John Dikeman, Kaja Draksler, Oscar Jan Hoogland, Wilbert De Joode, Michael Moore, Jasper Stadhouders and Wolter Wierbos.
The purpose of this label is to document music which we feel is artistically of high standing, yet, for one reason or another, is not available in another format. Perhaps the audio quality was not of the highest standard, or it could be due to the limitations of current mediums. It's also possible that we, as musicians, were more interested in continuing to craft our art than chasing down labels, or finding the time and money to produce these albums ourselves. The point is, this is music we believe in and we believe should be heard. Hopefully, you feel the same.
